Harland Williams and James Schrader at the Isla Monstro premiere

The Isla Monstro premiere was everything.

Steven Shea, through brute force of effort, willed this project into existence. Almost six years to the day before the premiere, we were making the original pitch package — including the TV theme I created that you can now hear on the album. To see that seed become a full film, a soundtrack, a physical release, and a room full of people celebrating it was surreal in the best way.

This movie is a labor of love that wears its heart on its sleeve: weird, funny, chaotic, sincere, and completely its own thing. It has been an honor to be part of the journey and to compose music for this island of monsters, mayhem, and questionable resort planning.

And we’re not done with the island yet. Comics, zines, and even a full Isla Monstro video game and soundtrack — coded and created by Steven’s son, Victor — are coming soon, along with a lot of other exciting news.

Please join us. Isla Monstro is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD. The soundtrack is available digitally, on vinyl, and on cassette.
